Hello! My name is Miranda (she/her), and I am a travel artist based in New York City, but painting everywhere. I grew up in Alaska and yes, I love the cold!

As someone who has moved around constantly, I take inspiration from all of my many homes, mixing urban, suburban and rural in my impressions of places. I also love to be inspired by new environments and architecture when I travel.

My artistic journey started in the second grade when I first traveled overseas and decided I was going to tote around my sketch book everywhere I went. My sketch diary was born! Since then, my training has involved countless sketches of landscapes, museum wonders and famous (or otherwise) sites from forty-seven states and almost as many countries.

Sketching for me includes more than what is on the paper; I prioritize atmosphere over realism and have been told by others that they feel transported into the place from their memory. That’s where I found my name, and I hope that I can also help you access the nostalgia of your home or your last travel adventure through my art.
